Forest Bathing at Danemead
29 September 2018, 10:00 - 13:00 (Add to calendar)
Awaken the senses, feel calm, rejuvenated and restored with a new forest bathing experience within the beautiful Danemead Nature Reserve.
Also known as forest therapy, forest bathing or Shinrin Yoku, a globally recognised practice known for its benefits to both physical and mental wellbeing. It’s not a long hike but a slow and mindful walk through nature. You are gently guided through a series of invitations where you are free to explore your surroundings with all your senses, with time for mindful awareness and reflection, as well as opportunities to share your thoughts and experiences. There is a wealth of evidence to show that spending time in nature can improve mood, mental performance and creativity, reduce anxiety, depression, blood pressure. The trees themselves actually give off natural chemicals (phytoncides) which are being studied for their positive impact on our immune function.
Nature and forest therapy is not just a phase or new ‘in’ term. It’s an important movement of connection, weaving the full power of nature into our lives to improve wellbeing for all on a wide scale.
The experience lasts for three hours but no physical exertion is required. All you need is an open heart to embrace the benefits of this powerful therapeutic practice.
£39 per person.
