Meet Panshanger Park’s People and Wildlife Officer, Murray Brown, to watch and learn about migratory birds of prey, the hobby. A pair have recently successfully bred at Panshanger and the chicks have just hatched. We should be able to see the parents feeding their young and possibly hunting on the wing.
Hobbies are schedule 1 species and by law must not be disturbed. We will be viewing the birds through scopes from a safe distance that won’t cause any disturbance.
Please be aware that as with any wildlife, nothing is guaranteed. If the hobbies leave the park earlier than expected, we will send an email so please keep an eye out for this.
Suitable for all. Please bring binoculars or a scope if you have them.
